Shirts from the gully.

GullyShirt started in Bengaluru with 200 shirts and one design.

The word gully means the lane you actually live on — not the mall, not the high street. The lane where the pandal goes up in September, where the cricket happens between two parked bikes, where everybody knows everybody. That is where our shirts are meant to be worn.

What we make

Oversized cotton tees with prints worth looking at twice. Our first is a Ganesha rendered as an architect's drawing — the murti annotated the way the shastras read it, every symbol labelled. Devotion, drawn like a blueprint.

We print in small runs. When a design sells out, it is finished. We would rather make 200 shirts people actually want than 2,000 that sit in a warehouse.

Who is behind it

One person, for now. Yogeesh, in Bengaluru. Every design, every order, every WhatsApp reply. If something goes wrong with your order, you are talking to the person who can actually fix it.

Where we are going

Ganesh Chaturthi is our first outing. If it goes well, more designs follow — more deities, more of the city, more of the lanes. If you want to be told when the next one drops, follow along or drop us a message.
